At its lowest point, the Jordan Valley is 150 metres below sea level. And right now, the Valley is experiencing a very low point indeed, left almost barren by over-grazing. Judicious tree planting of oaks above, acacia and Mediterranean pine below will not only improve soil fertility, but also conserve water and provide shade for crops.
