- 🍽️ Over 4,278 nutritious meals provided through the community café
- 👩👩👧 More than 60 community members accessing regular food support
- 🤝 Reducing food poverty, social isolation, and financial pressure for vulnerable families and individuals
The FARE Community Café provides a welcoming and supportive space where vulnerable people can come together each week to enjoy a freshly prepared two-course meal, build friendships, and access additional food support to take home.
For many people attending the café, rising living costs and financial pressures make it difficult to afford regular nutritious meals. The café helps ease this burden by offering a warm and dignified environment where community members can enjoy varied lunches, whether that is a starter and main course or a main course and dessert, while also receiving food support bags to help with essentials at home.
More than just a meal, the café creates opportunities for meaningful social interaction and connection. Many attendees live alone or experience isolation, and the café provides a safe and welcoming space where friendships can grow and people feel part of their community again. Through the trusted relationships built at the café, wider support and guidance can also be offered to those who need it most.
“I live on my own, and this café gives me the chance to spend time with others and enjoy being around people each week. Through attending, I’ve made new friends and feel much more connected to my community.”
