Prosthetic limbs discarded by the NHS are collected and refurbished by volunteers in the UK. Instead of landing up in land fill, they are sent out to more than 13 African countries, where 28 Mobility Clinics have been set up, and the staff trained to reuse and fit the artificial legs so amputees can walk again. It saves waste, gives volunteers a sense of purpose and gets people walking - all for £15 which includes shipping costs.
