In sub-Saharan Africa, a simple operation repairs damage caused during childbirth and enables a young mother and her baby to return to the family. Without treatment she will be ostracised, and literally refused back in the house, a tragic plight for a woman whose only crime is to be married and become pregnant before her body is mature.
